It has a malty aroma, with light aging and surprisingly low alcohol presence for its proof. The palate is considerably more bitter and herbal than anticipated. A pleasant sweetness provides some balance, but the bitterness, stemming from herbal notes rather than age, is still prominent. Black pepper is strongly flavored and notably hot. The finish contains unpleasant alcohol notes, which unfortunately contribute significantly to the herbal flavor. While not the worst beverage, it's not particularly enjoyable. Water reveals more complexity but also amplifies the alcoholic bitterness to an overwhelming degree. The flavor profile has some interesting, not entirely bad elements, but they are insufficient to offset the negative ones. It's interesting for a brief sip but quickly becomes unappealing. The complexity is somewhat appealing, but the flavor requires improvement.
