Buffalo Trace's Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon, Batch 5, is presented at 129.7 proof. This straight bourbon is unfiltered and uncut, having aged for over eight years. It is designed to echo the profile of George T. Stagg and is released bi-annually. Batch 5 was anticipated in the autumn of 2015.

Smell: rich butter, nut brittle, and wood. Taste: wood, spice, and a touch of sweet. Bold character. End: continued wood, lengthy and potent. This one really hits the spot!
Caramel, leather, and green apple notes are present, with a long-lasting finish and a significant amount of flavor. I found it necessary to dilute this one with water to fully appreciate it.
Incredibly strong. It stings the nose and throat all the way down. Adding a little ice and water makes it very good. The finish has caramel notes.
A rapid burst of heat is followed by a surprisingly smooth finish. It's both delightful and potentially hazardous!
Warm and hot. Cherry-flavored lip balm on both inhalation and exhalation.
Dark fruit and a maple heat on the nose.
