My experience over the years shows that Springbank never disappoints. The 15-year-old version offers a more pronounced sherry influence and a more noticeable peatiness than the younger one. Its aroma presents smoked salmon, sweets, and pipe tobacco, with undertones of damp soil, cough medicine, and parsley. The palate is robust, savory, and slightly effervescent, featuring mineral peat smoke, orange zest, and fresh ginger. It evokes a distant memory of Islay, fading in its lengthy and somewhat dry finish. Overall, this is a satisfying single malt and an excellent purchase. RATING: 4.0/5.0 stars ≙ 88 pts → FIRST-CLASS
