Springbank 13 Year Local Barley

I discovered this rare, hard-to-find spirit in the wild. It has a gorgeous deep golden brown color and appears oily. Nose - A very potent and powerful aroma! The high ABV hits first! I detect a strong bourbon character, grassy, and sweet. It's also medicinal, like an ointment, and funky! Super ripe banana, peach, and mild citrus notes are present. Brown sugar and caramel also emerge! What a distinct and complex nose! I'm thrilled to try it!! Palate - Very sweet! I get notes of banana pudding. It's spicy, likely from the high ABV! It coats the mouth exceptionally well! Unique. I've never tasted anything quite like it. There's a very subtle leathery peat quality, not smoky, but peaty! Added two drops of water - it became more chocolatey! The water truly opened it up! There's a citrusy and salty vibe, yet it remains so sweet. I love it! The spiciness increased too! It's complex and funky! Not everyone's preference. It evokes a warm breeze and meadows! It tastes expensive! It was an honor to experience this dram! It ranks very highly with me! A dream dram that sparks contemplation!

Amazing! The nose is brimming with beautiful mangoes, pleasant soft crushed pepper, a hint of pineapple, and that incredible Campbeltown funk! The palate is exquisite, loaded with everything from the nose, but amplified by the 54.1% ABV! It drinks incredibly smoothly for cask strength yet is so full and oily. The sherry is so well-integrated that the sweetness is subtle rather than the typical dark raisins and prunes from a standard sherry cask. A fantastic, long, and powerful finish that instantly makes me wish I had more of this dram!

A truly wonderful expression, very rich and viscous. Don't hesitate to add water. With water, you'll discover tropical notes, a light smokiness, and a savory character. It's highly complex with many layers; I'm very impressed and think it's a must-try!
