It's only the second week of 2026, and I might have found my top whisky pick for the year. The aroma of this Springbank 12 is sweet and tart, with a subtle mineral quality and excellent balance, leaning towards mango, citrus zest, and gentle wood spices. Brown sugar, custard, and a hint of soot also appear. The palate offers juicy oranges, lemon drops, and peppermint, followed by pineapple, grapefruit, and bonfire ashes. It has a creamy texture.
