Highly anticipated, extremely sought-after, virtually unobtainable - is this controversial release truly worth the hype? Rich, heavy, and earthy, the nose emphasizes molasses, strawberries, and tobacco, while the peat takes a supporting role. Plums, cocoa, and rustic notes emerge. Dense flavors of stewed fruits develop on the palate before becoming peppery, mineral, and slightly peaty. The characteristic Springbank profile is masked by a thick layer of PX sherry, resembling sugar-coated funk. Berry purée, oak spices, and gentle peat smoke define the decent finish.
