Rhea Vigil 3.5

I'm jotting these thoughts down the day after sampling, though I made some preliminary notes during the tasting. I'll add to them if I try it again. Its appearance is very pale, especially when compared to the two other British Columbia single malts I sampled concurrently. Nevertheless, I'm aware that color doesn't always indicate flavor, so I'm not letting it influence my expectations. Smell: Subtle and a bit floral. Hints of citrus, reminiscent of lemon polish. Taste: Delicate and refreshing. Thin. Lacking significant complexity, but there's an almond-like taste that brings peanuts to mind. Aftertaste: Brief and unremarkable. This feels like its least impressive characteristic. I suspect this spirit's youth contributes to its limited complexity, and I feel that further maturation would certainly enhance it. I do, however, understand the need to release the product. I'm uncertain about the origin of the name Small Talk, but it seems fitting. This would be a suitable spirit for casual conversation, as it doesn't demand much attention from the drinker. It's also a good option for those nights when you can't quite decide what to drink.

Pleasant, but lacked the full body I anticipated. Very little finish. Notes of vanilla and caramel. Shows potential, so I'm hopeful for a better next batch.
