Single Cask Nation Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Aged 24 Years (Pre-Fire Heaven Hill)

The color is a very deep, dark amber and is thick with oils as it moves. The aroma is full of creamy oak and Mexican cinnamon, with floral rye notes holding it all together. Hints of molasses and caramel complete the profile for a beautifully balanced nose. The palate begins with rich oak and quickly moves to the sides of the mouth with buttery cinnamon following closely. A combination of floral rye, molasses, and caramel coats the center of the tongue to finish. The finish is long, with oak and cinnamon mingling in the mouth while the sweeter notes persist for a while before fading. This whiskey's intensity of flavor reflects its age, but it is not overwhelming for a 24-year-old.

Sweet oak and brown sugar notes. A touch of bitterness. The nose suggests more than the palate and finish deliver. Some might dislike the amount of oak, and it's not something I'd drink constantly, but it nicely showcases an aged bourbon.
