Thaddeus Hilton 3.8

A light impression, with a subtle grassy aroma, not the strong herbal scent of bourbon or the grassy notes of a bourbon cask, but rather a 'vivid,' 'sweet,' 'green,' and 'fresh' high-quality grass scent, almost like green apple and grass. Taste: Enters very smoothly and lazily. It's like sipping a tea brewed from sweet grass. If Glenfiddich 12's green apple is a budget taste, Glenkinchie 1997's green apple tastes about 30 times better (though the actual price difference is only 2-3 times). Finish: Out of 10 intensity, it's about a 3, with grass, honey, fresh fruit, and vanilla harmonizing. The notes are consistent throughout, so it's not complex but well-layered and balanced, preventing it from feeling monotonous. One-line review: Glenfiddich 12 is VSOP, Glenkinchie 1997 is X.O. - The best green apple aroma I've tried (though my experience is limited) - I would repurchase (difficulty in obtaining due to COVID is a drawback).
