About this bottle

Shibui Single Grain 30 Year is produced in Okinawa using Indicia rice and Okinawan black koji, distilled in stainless steel pot stills. This whisky has been matured for three decades in ex-bourbon, sherry, and virgin European white oak casks.

It's very good and intriguing, though not quite on the same level as Yamazaki 18, Hibiki 21, Yoichi 15, or Yoichi 20. Nose: Raisins, Lavender, Caramel Corn, Plums, Raspberries, Luxardo Cherries, Dates, Cranberries, Ginger, Christmas Cakes. Palate: Raisins, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Cloves, Licorice, Plums, Minerals, Rice, Stewed Red Apples, Walnuts, Raspberries, Honey, Treacle. Finish: Almonds, Dark Chocolate, Blood Oranges, Raisins, Ginger, Christmas Cakes, Prunes, Violets, Lavender.
