The name "Seventeen Twelve" refers to the year North Carolina became separate from the Carolina colony. This bourbon is crafted using grains from the local area and aged in new American oak barrels, each 53 gallons in size. It is presented at 86 proof.

Perhaps I received a flawed batch. It seems they distilled too far into the tails, capturing a moldy asparagus note.
