Nose: Bleach, pepper, wood shavings, mocha, and earthy notes. Palate: Chocolate, leather, metallic undertones, spices, and baking soda. Some dried fruit and banana are present. Finish: A moderately warming finish with mineral and wood characteristics. Slightly metallic with some tropical fruit notes. This comes from a distillery I typically steer clear of, but this is a truly enjoyable dram. It offers a pleasant warming finish, and the triple distillation, which usually removes the flavors I appreciate from this distillery's spirits, has been softened by the extended aging.
