This whiskey offers a highly distinctive profile, quite different from most Scotches. It has no sulfur on the nose, a smooth entry, enjoyable Sauvignon blanc notes on the palate, and a quick finish. It achieves a perfect marriage of Scotch and bourbon by complementing each other's weaknesses, resulting in a smooth, light, buttery sipper. My only criticism is its viscosity, which is very thin and watery, yet somehow the overall composition works very well.

Mar 2018 Tasted Scapa 2001 from Gordon & MacPhail Light, sweet, honey nose. The taste is a lovely salty sweetness. No real need for water. In fact when I added water - only a little - it ruined it.
