Samuel Grant Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Samuel Grant Bourbon. Aged for 3 years with 40% alcohol. This is a private label for a supermarket chain, using a benchmark bottle. Aroma: Only faint traces of fruitiness and oak, similar to cognac. Taste: A touch of sweetness, it felt like a cognac/bourbon blend but was light in flavor. Even my father remarked it tasted somewhat like cognac (he enjoyed it). After sitting for a week, it tasted more like a bourbon, less sweet with more charred oak. Exceptionally smooth. I might revisit it in the future to see if the cognac taste persists. For the price, it's a good and enjoyable purchase. Cost: Around $8-9 plus tax for a 750 ml bottle. Grade: B-

A Barton Distillery bourbon, bottled by The Founders Company in Louisville, Kentucky. It is indeed 3 years old. It has a light amber hue and a sweet aroma. The taste is sweet with little lingering flavor. A budget-friendly whiskey that is still worth drinking.

For a budget-friendly option, this was a very mellow bourbon with slight sweetness.

Straight from the tap. Good enough for an Old Fashioned.

Thin, sharp woody flavor with mild sweetness. Significant burn.

Acceptable for the cost. Best enjoyed with ice.
