Following a lackluster selection from Balvenie, I was anticipating a decent dram, and this one delivered. I had heard positive remarks about this bottler, and this 27-year expression is indeed a good one. Even at 45% ABV, adding water significantly opens it up. It offers spice, rich, creamy sherry, and a wonderfully warming finish. However, an overly drying conclusion detracts slightly, though overall it's a commendable effort.
