Samaroli Caribbean Rum 2017

Samaroli, a distributor with roots in scotch, demonstrates that expertise in their rum offerings. Smoke, burnt sugar, bright fruit, honey, and leather are clearly present on both the nose and palate. It's very light yet still complex and mature. I'm thrilled to have discovered this gem and had the opportunity to taste three of their highly exclusive rums during a casual lunch. *chef's kiss*

This is a fruity and leathery spirit. It's a limited release, number 305 of 444, obtained after a lengthy search for this specific bottling. The 48% ABV provides significant character, unlike many spirits bottled at 40%. The liquid is a pale gold hue. On the palate, notes of leather and tobacco are present alongside light citrus. I'm not let down.
