Annamarie Shaffer 4.0

This is an incredible collaboration between Ironroot Republic Distillery and Liquor Hound. They blended the MGP Rye of Liquor Hound with the heirloom corn of Ironroot, and created this amazing product-- finished with a blend of staves from port and cognac casks. It's incredible. It's high-proof and has the spice of rye, with the sweetness of amazing corn, and a nose that clearly shows you this was finished in a port cask. The cognag is lost. You can only buy it at Total Wine unfortunately. 4 stars.

Tracy Blackwell 3.5

Robust and potent is the best description. It benefits from a small ice cube or a touch of water to soften the intensity. May repurchase, or may not!

Brantley Reinhardt 3.8

Sweet Texas corn is prominent initially, shifting towards a stronger rye spice as it develops. Unclear where the port and cognac influences come into play.

Marcos Needham 4.3

Smooth and very sweet, with a finish that really comes through.
