The aroma starts with floral rice spice and earthy undertones, finished by fresh oak. These elements highlight this Maryland-style rye. Smoother notes of vanilla, brown sugar, and caramel are present. It's wonderfully refreshing, seeming rich and juicy. The palate is gently coated with floral rice spice, then a wave of peppery spice emerges. Oak and vanilla appear in the background, providing balance as you continue to chew. This Maryland rye's unique character shines through, showcasing the blend of spice and smoothness it's known for. It's exceptionally easy to drink, offering a great flavor profile that's neither too simple nor overly complex. The finish is lengthy and quite mild, still presenting spice and chewy oak and vanilla sensations. It's a wonderful aftertaste, making you anticipate the next sip immediately.

About this bottle
This is the third bottled-in-bond rye whiskey from Sagamore Spirit, following its 2021 debut. Similar to the first release, it combines two straight rye whiskies—one with a high-rye mash bill and another with a low-rye mash bill. This limited edition bottling has been aged for six years in new American oak barrels. It is available in select US markets and at the distillery in Baltimore, Maryland, as of November 2023.
