Margret Moody 2.8

I picked up this bottle for some cocktail experiments and since it's nearly gone, I wanted to share my thoughts. Initially, the aroma is strongly juniper-driven with little else discernible. After tasting, however, the juniper recedes significantly, revealing a pronounced citrus character, mainly lemon zest with a hint of spice. The texture is quite light, almost watery, apart from the lemon peel notes. The finish is brief, with minimal warmth or sting. Ultimately, I don't consider this a terrible gin; it's acceptable, but it lacks the juniper intensity I personally prefer. While it has a respectable alcohol content (at 86 proof), it doesn't possess the body of gins I typically favor for sipping neat (though I rarely do, preferring something like Monkey 47 when I do) or for use in mixed drinks (like Tanqueray, Beefeater, & Plymouth). It's also not the most budget-friendly option, which is why I rated it just under a 3.
