I sampled this bourbon as part of a barrel selection by associates at Lexington Beverage Outlet. This bottle commemorates the 65th anniversary of Master Distiller Jimmy Russell's tenure at the Wild Turkey Distillery. Jimmy was a remarkable athlete, known in high school as Russell the Muscle, and this whiskey is named to honor him. The whiskey presents a robust aroma of oak, maple, and a hint of vanilla. The mouthfeel is thin and intense, with flavors of sweet almond, butter, maple syrup, and caramel. The finish is enduring and powerful, featuring fruity notes and a peanut aftertaste. It possesses greater complexity than the Russell’s 10, offering both sweetness and spice. Seek it out if you have the chance. It was the spirit I offered at Thanksgiving!

A toast to a friend who assisted in setting up the office!
Sweet and heavy but delicious, best bourbon today
It was spicy but enjoyable. The high alcohol content made it feel hot.
