Royal Salute 38 Year Stone of Destiny

Another super premium spirit from Pernod Ricard's Chivas Regal, this time a 38 year old expression, called Royal Salute: Stone of Destiny, whose name comes from the ancient red stone used for coronation of Scottish kings and later in history, in the coronation of British kings and queens. Bottled at 40% alcohol by volume On the nose, Fresh Orange cut in half (just as Chivas 18 year old or Ballantine's 30 year old). An artificial orange juice called "Tang", I don't know if you have ever had it, but it is just like that. Watermelon (wow! That is a first!); Caramel and Toffee. On the palate: Super smooth, Vanilla essence, Spiciness builds with every sip. Aftertaste is AMAZING. Toffee with spices, such a buttery, pleasant finish. Overall, this is what high-end blends can achieve. Maybe a little straightforward on the tasting notes, but definitively very well crafted and delicious. I know it is expensive, but if you can have a glass of it, don't doubt, you will love it. 94 out of 100. Cheers!

After a slight swirl, sweet red fruits, cherry, sugar, and cognac notes emerge. Continuing to smell it, one might expect the nose to become accustomed, but the distinct sherry aroma persists, allowing for prolonged appreciation. 🌗Taste: Demonstrates balance. Not overly strong red fruit, nor overly thick sherry or brown sugar, but akin to tasting sweet silk. The palate is characterized by a rippling silkiness, with red fruits and woodiness intertwining, as smooth as dancing multi-colored sprites. It evokes the feeling of encountering a Kitsune charmingly beckoning amidst colorful ribbons fluttering in the wind in a Chinese wuxia film. This was wonderful at the Chivas event. Plenty of wood, a dry finish, and smooth, pleasant sherry. It costs about $900 in shops and roughly $175 for a single glass at a bar. A friend and I each had two glasses!

Nose is caramel and a bit of leather and sweet. The palate is sweet for a scotch. Lots of caramel and a touch of spearmint with some smoke/peat at the very end. A very nice spirit.
