Royal Salute 25 Year The Treasured Blend

You know the saying 'the cobbler's children have no shoes'? That's me. I'm a brand ambassador for Chivas Regal in my country but I'd never tried this 25-year-old Royal Salute before, even though it's been out for ages. I'm glad I finally got to taste it. This very fancy whisky is also called 'the treasure blend' and it's a tribute to the Crown Jewels. It's bottled at 40% ABV, so let's see if it's any good. On the nose: red fruits, orange peel, glazed pork, salt, and prunes. After the first taste, the aroma shifted to orange caramel and strawberry candy. On the palate, it begins with cotton candy and red fruits like strawberries. There's hay and salt – actually, quite salty. The second taste brought out a childhood liquid medicine flavor, like Hershey's red fruit syrup. It also had chocolate. Very nice. The aftertaste has a hint of peat, I think, based on the notes. Cuban cigar and hay. An excellent, long, salty finish. Overall, it's very elegant. It might be one of the creamiest, smoothest, fruitest blends I've ever had. It's much better than the 'regular' Chivas 25yo that's been around forever. I really enjoyed it and it's suitable for any fancy occasion. My rating is 91 out of 100.
