VA ABC has been improving lately. Every visit to a store in recent months has yielded a store pick that turned out to be an excellent buy. This is my initial bottle from Ross and Squibb, and it met expectations. It might be among the finest ryes I have ever had. The aroma of rye spice is not overpowering, which can be a drawback in other ryes. The palate presents more delicate rye spice, apple, and mint. The finish is of medium length and remains pleasant throughout. I haven't found any online or on this app mentioning the "Masters of Rye" single barrels, though a bottled-in-bond version with a 6-year age statement exists. However, this bottle has no age statement. 95% rye, 5% malted barley.
