Rossville Union Master Crafted Straight Rye Whiskey (Skip's Liquor)

For me, rye whiskey is similar to Pinot Noir. It's full of uniqueness and complexity that makes you want more. This rye from Rossville is fruit-forward and spicy. I detected aromas of cherries and cranberries mixed with caramel. The oak and baking spices contributed aromas of vanilla, earthy nutmeg, and spicy cinnamon. The taste mirrors the spicy cinnamon aroma. It's followed by an oily, coating smoke that reminds me of a pot still whiskey. This is an excellent bottle for those who prefer a fruit-forward rye.
