A rum bottled in the 1960s by the Fernandez family in Puerto Rico, using an unchanged secret formula and aging process from 1880. It was aged for at least 3 years in oak. The aroma is rich with notes of sugar cane, wood, fruits, herbs, and spices. The palate is robust, featuring grass, butterscotch, and pepper. It finishes with a long, cognac-like character, including notes of oak, nuts, smoke, and beer. January / March 2018
