About this bottle

Ron Coloma 8 Años is a molasses-based rum that undergoes maturation in ex-bourbon American oak. It is subsequently finished in barrels that previously held Coloma coffee liqueur, resulting in a total of 8 years of aging. Water from the Andean mountains is used to reach a proof of 40%, and filtration occurs using coffee filters from Hacienda Coloma before bottling.

Waylon Gannon 3.0

The aroma of this rum offered a touch of sweetness with a hint of almond. For a Colombian rum, it wasn't as sweet as I anticipated. The sweetness was present but, to me, more subtle. I found the oak notes to be more pronounced. There were also faint traces of vanilla and almond, though not in every taste. It's a respectable rum for sipping, but as I have a preference for sweeter drinks, I enjoy sweeter rums a bit more.

Stephen Velasquez 2.8

Aroma: Citrus, chocolate, a hint of arrack. Taste: Coffee with milk. Finish: Quite thin, with a subtle chocolate note.

Willard Lyman 4.0

A good rum with notes of mild coffee on the palate and a long finish.

Coleen Gil 2.0

Mediocre. Faint hints of coffee, chocolate, and some funk.

Elisha Robledo 2.0

Has a flavor profile somewhat like cachaca...
