About this bottle

Remus Gatsby Reserve, the most exclusive offering in the Remus Bourbon lineup, is housed in an Art Deco-inspired bottle and produced at Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. This release draws from some of the distillery's oldest reserves and commemorates the 100th anniversary of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby in 2025. It is aged for 15 years and bottled at cask strength, consistent with prior editions. Beginning October 2025, it will be available nationwide in limited quantities, priced at a suggested $199.99.

Doyle Kline 4.8

Notes of cherry, brown sugar, sweet leather/tobacco, and dark, sweet oak. This pretty much sums it up. The alcohol content was a little low, and it's noticeable, but it's still cask strength. I heard rumors that it contains some 18-year-old bourbon. It's certainly a unique experience. I spent a bit too much at $250. If it were closer to $175, I would consider it a definite purchase. Even at $250, I'm not unhappy with it, but it doesn't represent great value for the price.

Tiffany Castaneda 4.5

The nose has a significant amount of bittersweet oak, which is delightful! The palate comes across as more bitter initially, with sweetness towards the back. However, adding 3 drops (literally) of water makes a huge difference. It becomes much sweeter, and it's amazing!!

Orlando Blakely 4.8

Spicy but with a good amount of sweetness. Nice long finish.

Gregg Odell 5.0

Notes of apricot, alcohol, and wood tannins.
