NEAT NOSE - Caramel, Citrus, Stone Fruits; Light and Approachable PALATE - Given the mashbill, the lack of palate spice is surprising. It's rich with stone fruit and caramel, and the faintest hint of vanilla. The mouthfeel is exceptional, coating the palate well and feeling juicy and oily. FINISH - A nice touch of spice on the back end with citrus notes. Oak is noticeable but not prominent. The finish is medium in length. BUY? - Definitely. This might be the best release from Redwood Empire. The sweetness is unexpected for a Rye whiskey with such a high Rye content. BUY AGAIN? - Absolutely, and I'm particularly eager to experience more of Redwood's Grain to Glass as it ages.
