This was truly enjoyable and offered a significant increase in flavor and complexity compared to the standard version. Highly recommended and a great deal when available.

About this bottle
The second cask strength offering from Redwood Empire's Emerald Giant, a key whiskey in their core range, is now available. Emerald Giant is a blended straight rye whiskey featuring a mash bill of 94% rye, 5% malted barley, and 1% wheat. The rye components were aged for a minimum of four years and up to seven years in 53-gallon barrels with a char #3. The cask strength of 116.4 proof is attributed to the aging process in the California fog belt, resulting in a lower proof compared to similar offerings. Cask Strength Emerald Giant can be found at select retailers nationwide as of May 2023. (SRP $70)

Minty rye, lime oil, burnt figs, muted vanilla oak. Slightly dry finish. Oily, easy to drink. Mild but lingering finish.
An excellent rye featuring a gingerbread finish. At 116 proof, it hits a delightful balance. Hints of apple pie are present on the palate.
If wintergreen and maple syrup had offspring. Amazing mouthfeel
