About this bottle
When Raymond Bernard Dessert III established the Hoochery Distillery, his focus was on rum production. The distillery, located on his farm 15km north of Kununurra in the Ord River Valley, Western Australia, holds the distinction of being Australia's longest-operating legal distillery. Recently, Raymond has ventured into whisky production, entrusting distiller Margaret Lyons with this new pursuit. Together, they have created a whisky from 100% locally grown corn. The mash is charcoal-filtered, and the spirit is aged for two and a half years in American oak barrels that were previously toasted and used for aging their Ord River Rum. As rum remains their primary product, the annual output of this whisky is very small, likely only one or two barrels.
