Jim Beam Signature Craft Soft Red Wheat Bourbon 11 Year

Very pleasing. For an 11-year-old, the oak influence isn't very prominent. It's quite smooth on the nose and palate... somewhat fruity and definitely not spicy. A very faint resemblance to a certain distillery's profile, not overly strong but drinks heavier than its 90 proof. A hint of light cherry on the finish, not in a medicinal way some higher proof spirits can exhibit. Good luck locating it now. It's a shame it was discontinued as I would gladly repurchase it.

A pour from the Drammers club. It was my least favorite among the brown rice and triticale experimental spirits. Nose: Vanilla, flowers, cotton candy, oranges, cherries, caramel, grass, anise, cantaloupe, melon, citrus, cookie dough. Palate: Vanilla, caramel, banana, cotton candy, lemon, butter frosting, pepper, peanuts. Finish: Caramel, citrus, vanilla, oranges, apricots, cherries, peanuts, cotton candy, cloves, cinnamon.

Excellent aroma, slightly lighter than standard Beam with more notes of orchard fruit. The intense caramel flavor is still present. On the palate, it's very woody, with a prominent oak presence, almost like sandalwood, but not unpleasantly so. It's sweet and smooth, with hints of vanilla and mint, and a slight bitterness at the end for balance. Very easy to drink. Sampled on 3/24/18.

Don't be misled by the 'expert' into believing this is a dull bourbon. While it's somewhat gentler in intensity compared to recent bourbons, it's just as good as the 12-year-old Dewar's that my wife and I just sampled alongside it. Excellent for sipping neat. Offers a nice contrast to the Jim Beam Black label.

Nose: Cotton candy, vanilla, sawdust Palate: Brown sugar, citrus giving way to oak Finish: Dry and unremarkable I had higher expectations, but it's an adequate dram overall.

Really smooth and excellent. Best enjoyed chilled.
