The aroma is heavy on ethanol for 100 proof. Difficult to get past, but it smells young, younger than Bottled-in-Bond would suggest. The palate is similar: ethanol, orange, spice, and a lot of grain. The finish is spicy and warm, likely the best aspect of the sip. Hopefully, it opens up, or it will definitely be a mixer.

Smell: corn, alcohol, orange Taste: spicy, burnt barrel, alcohol Aftertaste: more spice and alcohol It's smoother than their regular bourbon, yet still more aggressive than it ought to be. Its flavor depth doesn't match the wheat version.

Revisiting this after it sat open for over a month really changed things. It's a caramel powerhouse. A bit one-dimensional, but the harsh alcohol taste vanished.
