Dara Ballesteros 4.5

The aroma presents a fantastic combination of toasted oak, dark chocolate, hints of sweet butteriness, with subtle undertones of vanilla and brown sugar. It suggests a wheated bourbon profile, carrying a very distinct characteristic. The palate is rich and satisfying, delivering a wonderful burst of pepper along with a wave of all the aromas experienced. It's truly impressive how well the flavors transferred. It feels very smooth and buttery, with a remarkably distinct taste. A distillery from New York's Finger Lakes region has produced bourbon similar to this, often featuring intriguing blends of corn, wheat, and various oak types for barrels. I have some theories; I strongly suspect it contains wheat and perhaps white corn, and to go even further, I'd venture to say it was aged in ********* oak. The finish is long and satisfying, with each sip revealing more delightful pepperiness around the mouth. In the background, there's a great blend of oak and syrup, making it not only unique but also sublime and habit-forming. My only significant regret is purchasing just one bottle of this, as it's no longer available. It can be challenging to finish bottles we genuinely love, but I'm glad I had the opportunity to enjoy this particular bottle and see it off, fulfilling its purpose of being consumed.
