Malcolm Avery 4.8

The aroma is a fantastic explosion of floral rye and toasted oak, perfectly balanced with vanilla, dark chocolate, a hint of molasses sweetness, ripe fruit, and a touch of earthiness. This is absolutely magnificent, with barely any bite, which is quite remarkable for a spirit over 100 proof. It instantly makes you eager to take a sip. The palate strikes an incredible balance between rich and dry, with a remarkable mouthfeel. The mouth is filled with floral and fruity rye spice, toasted oak, vanilla, and the other subtle notes from the aroma swirling in the background. The mouth is immediately coated with flavor in a truly dessert-like manner, making it dangerously exciting to drink. The finish is long and seemingly endless with virtually no burn, featuring an amazing blend of flavors that dance around the mouth. Everything is in perfect harmony, creating a remarkable experience. This stands as one of the most perfect examples of rye available and strongly evokes the style of rye from bygone eras. I will be incredibly disappointed when this bottle is finished, as a limited release, I'll likely never encounter another. Should I ration it? But then again, it would be a shame not to savor it down to the very last drop.
