Jack Larue 4.3

A pleasant pour. The mouthfeel is very nice, with a unique slight effervescence that only lasts a few seconds (I've noticed this in a few pours from this bottle, so I believe it's characteristic of the bourbon). It then transitions into a medium viscosity pour. Notes of toasted oak, hints of burnt toffee, black tea, and cigar leaf and ash. A bit pricey (around $130), but I felt it was a worthwhile purchase.

This is remarkably interesting. Among the finest things I've encountered recently. It's rich and smooth. You detect all the typical bourbon notes: toffee, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, but there's an exceptional grain or wheat note on the finish. I truly enjoy this one. My bottle is from lot #10.

A bomb of toffee, caramel, and chocolate. Tastes very close to the stated proof but isn't too much.
