The aroma is intriguing. It presents notes of medicine, raw timber, vanilla, a cool campfire, tart citrus, and strawberry. The taste is quite sugary, featuring dark chocolate imbued with orange oil and a medley of tart berries. Truly remarkable. Following the first sip, the smokiness from the nose becomes more pronounced, offering hints of candied, salty, crispy smoked bacon. I found this scotch to be very pleasing. It was a welcome departure from other whiskies from Islay I've sampled recently.
