Platte Valley Moonshine, presented in a ceramic jug with a cork, is a 100% straight corn whiskey. Unlike most unaged varieties, this spirit matures for three years in an unspecified type of barrel before being bottled.

The sample I received was this Whisky. The initial taste had a potent ethanol presence, but allowing it to rest for ten minutes transforms it into a pleasant and enjoyable beverage. It's good and clean, but it lacks the flavor complexity I seek in a whisky.
My bottle doesn't say moonshine. Just whiskey. Very pure and straightforward. Dusty corn flavors with a little sweetness. Drink it for its intended character. 100% corn. If you drink it expecting typical whiskey or bourbon flavors, you will only be let down.
Pale straw in color. A simple corn whiskey aroma. Lacking character in flavor with mild heat.
Very one-note earthy flavors. Remains consistent from beginning to end.
Purely corn! A good introduction to the world of whiskey.
