Planteray Peru 2010 Single Cask (Pineau de Charentes Cask Maturation)

This bottle has been open for over two years and is about 5/8 full. The aroma has a buttery, play-doh-like note, with red berries, dried bananas, pineapple, baking spices, and a hint of ginger. The palate entry is smooth, buttery, woody, and spicy with brown sugar, honey, citrus, tropical fruits, ginger, and baking spices. The finish is long and mildly spicy with honey and dried red fruits.

This offering is quite subtle, revealing numerous pleasing notes upon deeper examination, such as molasses, tropical fruits, and baking spices. It's certainly enjoyable, but it doesn't particularly impress me; it's just standard.
