About this bottle
Planteray Peru 2006 is a vintage bottling from the Birds of Paradise limited edition collection, featuring the Peruvian rock cockerel (tunki) on its label. Distilled in 2006 at the Cartavio Rum Company using multi-column and John Dore type stills, it was aged for 11 years in the distillery's cellars in ex-bourbon barrels. Subsequently, it was transferred to France for an additional three years of maturation in Maison Ferrand Cognac barrels. Just 21 casks were made, and the rum is bottled at 47.9% ABV, available since October 2021.
