The combination results in a somewhat smoky and unclear impression of how it will taste. The palate delivers a burst of floral rye spice, grain, grassiness, and a hint of earthiness. It's an interesting mix and perhaps not the best initial impression. It doesn't develop much beyond that – it remains too fresh, too grainy. The finish is medium-long and spicy, with lingering grassiness and graininess. This particular bottle might have been compromised at some point, but as it stands now, it's somewhat challenging to drink.
