The aroma is vibrant and full of oak and floral rye spice, with creamy notes of vanilla offering a nice balance. There is a wonderful simplicity to it, a nod to being at a good age. As it breathes, it doesn't really change. It stays delectable and inviting. The palate is slightly dry, yet rich and chewy. It starts with a burst of spice as oak and vanilla flood the mouth, all the way to the corners. Faint notes of dark chocolate add to an overall perfect experience. The finish is medium long and spicy, as dry notes of oak and vanilla fade. This is not a complicated whiskey and is strong based on being full and rich. Quite wonderfully simple.
