The aroma is a blend of earthy and creamy with a hint of toasted wood. There's an intriguing savory touch of bacon fat that blends with vanilla cake. It finishes with notes of dark chocolate, as this appears inconsistent, consistently shifting its character with each tasting. The palate is quite mild with a pleasant rye spice that is sharp and revitalizing. Notes of toasted wood, vanilla cake, and dark chocolate intertwine. It maintains this profile, remaining fundamentally simple, but the tastes are superb. An exceptionally well-made rye, as it's also uncommon to find rye that leans towards an earthy profile. The finish is moderately long with a lingering earthy rye spice that yields to cake and dark chocolate. Absolutely delightful.
