Pinhook Bourbon collaborated with Bourbon Lane Stable to release a series of whiskeys featuring notable and active racehorses. Bourbon Courage, initially acquired for $15,000 and having earned over $1.1 million, was chosen for their debut Lot Release #1. With a mash bill of 75% corn, 20.5% rye, and 4.5% malted barley, this is a "high-rye" bourbon. This release was limited to 5,000 bottles in 2014.

The aroma has candied bubble gum, mint, and vanilla, with caramel and a touch of pine. It enters the mouth very sweet and slick, the bubble gum taste dominates and slowly gives way to a pleasant spice, finishing with anise. The conclusion is somewhat thin and short, but it's a delicious drink overall.
