About this bottle

Peychaud's Aperitivo was introduced in 2016 by Sazerac, the company also responsible for the well-known Peychaud's Bitters. This vividly red bitter liqueur is available at 22 proof.

Mikel Spurlock 4.0

This is a guilty pleasure for me... it's thin, syrupy, and has an unusual quality like natural cough syrup, but it has a good citrus and herbal core. Very drinkable as an aperitivo. It's nothing like the anise-flavored Peychaud's bitters.

Shelton Hawk 3.5

The nose has oranges, cherries, and herbs. Bitter and fruity on the palate. Not quite Campari or Aperol, but definitely enjoyable.

Ryland Friend 2.5

Tasted without dilution at the Sazerac distillery in New Orleans. Notes of cherry and licorice with intense bitterness. Definitely not my preference.

Irvin Johnston 2.8

Too syrupy, like drinking cough syrup.
