About this bottle

This represents the third batch of Valencia, a special bourbon release within the brand's Cooper Series, available annually. The bourbon is crafted using Penelope's Four Grain recipe (74% corn, 7% rye, 16% wheat, and 3% malted barley) and then finished for up to 12 months in Vino de Naranja casks sourced from Sevilla, Spain. Bottled at 95 proof, there are 5,000 cases of 6-packs planned for national distribution starting August 2024. The suggested retail price is $79.99.

TASTING NOTES NEAT - The aroma is very pleasing, featuring candied oranges, vanilla, and caramel. PALATE - Matches the aroma. While not complex, it successfully delivers on its promise of candied oranges lightly coated in caramel. The balance between the two flavors is commendable, with neither being excessive or overpowering. FINISH - Medium length, with caramel-infused oak notes. SHOULD YOU BUY? - Yes. WOULD YOU BUY AGAIN? - Yes, though I'd be interested in comparing it blind to the more common Rosé Cask finish.
