Penelope Barrel Strength Bourbon (Batch 16)

The aroma presents chocolate, oak, and olive (yes, olive). The initial taste reveals a superb combination of high-proof spice with subtle chocolate, cherry, leather, and char. Adding ice mellows some of the upfront spice, but the warmth persists pleasantly on the finish. This is an excellent offering from Penelope and likely my favorite.

To be honest, this was the final sample of the evening, and I'm not in a suitable condition to properly evaluate it. I did not care for this one.

Sweet on the nose. A bit strong-tasting due to the alcohol content, but an absolute explosion of peanut flavor on the palate.
