It's straightforward, as it should be. You'll either love it or hate it; it is what it is. Taste: It leans sweeter than anise liqueurs like Pernod. It's in the same category as Ouzo, but less sweet than Sambuca. Despite the sweet initial taste and strong black licorice flavor, it has a pleasant dryness on the finish. It's not really intended to be sipped neat. This is best enjoyed over ice and water on a sunny day. It will get cloudy, similar to most other anise-based liqueurs. If you enjoy this flavor profile (and you likely know if you will, based on my description), I'd suggest a more refined option if you're seeking a full-strength sipping spirit. Anise-based liquors are common in the Mediterranean, and superior ones are available. However, for a low ABV summer drink, this offers great value.
