Rich dark cherries on the nose, with vanilla and butterscotch. The palate echoes this while adding some oak and general woody complexity to manage the high alcohol content. The finish is relatively mild and quick, with the faintest hints of allspice and clove. I was uncertain about the anticipation, but I must admit: this delivers; a beautiful yet powerful expression.
A great serving to share with friends and family. It has a slight initial heat that mellows out as it transitions to the mid-palate. A touch of oak, perhaps a hint of sweet oak. Not my top choice from this distillery's lineup, but still a solid offering.
The aroma is sweet vanilla with caramel, pecan, and oak. The flavor is smooth and mellow, with robust wheat, cherries, and oak. It finishes long and smoky with wheat, plus hints of fruit, spice, and oak tannins.
