About this bottle

Illinois-based Oppidan follows a purist approach, aiming to showcase individual grains, akin to the European single malt tradition, rather than blending them. This rye is composed entirely of 100% malted rye and has been aged for approximately one year in barrels ranging in size from 15 to 53 gallons.

Evan Nielson 3.8

Notes of cinnamon and spice, very pleasant. It's spicy but not harsh. The nose has orange and citrus, with an odd sweet undertone. It's enjoyable when you want something with a lot of character and vibrancy; it's not a mellow drink.

Maeve Mcgraw 3.8

smell: butterscotch, oak, rye spice, pepper eat: vanilla, oak, spice, chocolate end: tannin, chocolate

Gale Chowdhury 3.5

The aroma is harsh, with vanilla and caramel. Strong oak presence and peppery rye. The aftertaste is decent, with a lingering spice.

Jasper Alarcon 3.5

Spice, spice. The most intensely spiced whiskey I have ever tasted.

Winston Pruitt 3.0

Clearly chocolate, honey, and leather.

Phoebe Farley 3.0

A spicy Manhattan.
