This expression is a 10-year-old wheated bourbon that was finished in rum, Calvados, and Cognac, then combined with a 14-year-old bourbon aged in Amontillado sherry. The aroma is outstanding, with all the finishes contributing significant fruitiness. Dark fruits and berries are prominent from the glass, supported by baking spices and oak in the background. The flavor echoes this fruitiness but is more subdued, balanced instead by barrel spice and oak. I anticipated this would be excessively sweet due to the multiple finishes and the use of wheated bourbon, but I was agreeably surprised that the bourbon's core character remained intact.
